【摘要】:Thisstandardprimarilyaddressesencapsulantproductsforresidentialandchild-carefacilities.Itmayalsobeappropriateforsomecommercialbuildings.Encapsulationprovidesameansofprotectingoccupantsfromexposuretoleadinpaintinbuildingsthatarelikelytoremainstandingforalongperiodoftime.Thisnondestructiveabatementstrategyisusefulinsituationsinwhichtheprimarystructureneedstoremainintactforeitherhistoricaloreconomicreasons.Encapsulationoffersanabatementstrategythatmaybemorecosteffectivethanabatementbyremovalofthepaint.Therearemanyenvironmentalanduseconditionsthataffectleadedpaintliquidcoatingencapsulationproducts,anddifferenttypesofliquidcoatingencapsulationproductshavebeendevelopedspecificallytomeettherequirementsofthevariousconditions.Producttypesincludereinforcedandnon-reinforcedliquidcoatings,aswellasproductsforinteriororexterioruse.Theseproductsmaybeappliedovermanydifferentsurfacescoatedwithoneormorelayersofleadedpaintandpossiblyothercoatings.Encapsulationproductsinservicearesubjectedtomanykindsofwear.Variouscolorsandfinishesarealsoavailable.Thisguideisintendedtoassistthepurchaserindeterminingwhichproductismostappropriateforthespecificconditionsunderwhichtheproductwillbeused.Asdescribedinthisguide,anencapsulationproductmustbecompatiblewiththesurfacetowhichitisapplied.Anencapsulationproductmustbondtothesurfacecoating,andnotcausethesubsurfacelayerstoseparateoradverselydeteriorate.1.1Thisguideisintendedtoprovidebuildinguserssuchasprivatebuildingowners,contractors,architects,homeowners,andregulatoryauthoritieswithassistanceinselectinganappropriateliquidcoatingencapsulationproductforarchitecturalresidenceandchild-carefacilityusesituationsforabatingleadedpaint.Thisguidealsoprovidesinformationthatcanbeusedtoassistinthefollowing:(1)determiningwhetherapaintedsurfaceissuitableforencapsulation,(2)applyingaliquidcoatingencapsulationproduct,(3)evaluatinginstalledliquidcoatingencapsulationproducts,and(4)maintainingtheencapsulatedsurface.1.2Thisguideappliestoanyliquid-appliedproductthatreliesprimarilyonadhesionforattachmenttothesurfaceandisdesignedtoreducehumanexposuretoleadinpaint.1.3Thisguideisnotintendedforuseasatrainingmanual.Theinformationcontainedhereinisnotall-inclusiveanddoesnotprovidecomprehensiveinstructionsfortheselection,application,ormaintenanceofspecificliquidcoatingencapsulationproducts.Thisguideisintendedtosupplementinformationsuppliedbyencapsulationproductmanufacturersandsafetyrequirementsestablishedbylaw.Theuserofthisguideshallrefertotheencapsulationproductmanufacturer''sinstructionsforencapsulationproductapplicationandmaintenance.1.4Thisguidedoesnotcoverminimummaterialperformancerequirementsforliquidcoatingencapsulationproducts.Performancespecificationsfornon-reinforcedliquidcoatingencapsulationproductsareprovidedinSpecificationE1795.PerformancespecificationsforreinforcedliquidcoatingencapsulationproductsareprovidedinSpecificationE1797.1.5Encapsulationproductsforuseonindustrialsteelstructuresarenotcoveredinthisguide.Industrialsteelstructuresinclude,butarenotlimitedto,bridges,watertowers,andtanks.1.6Limiteddocumentationisavailableonevaluatingthefieldperformanceofliquidcoatingencapsulationproducts.Aconservativeapproachtoassessingtheselectionanduseofliquidcoatingencapsulationproductsisthusadoptedinthisguide.Asappropriate,theguidanceprovidedwithinw......
